Staff from Access Self Storage, which operates 57 facilities in the United Kingdom, are participating in a half marathon on June 25 to raise money for Cancer Research UK, an independent organization that conducts research and raises awareness about the disease. The 30-person team will cover 13 miles as part of the company’s first ever “Self Storage Week” celebration, according to sources.
The route includes stops at seven Access Self Storage facilities. The runners will begin their journey at the company’s property in Fulham, visit sites in Acre Lane, Battersea, Bermondsey, Chelsea and Islington, and end at Kings Cross. Donations can be made online.
“We wanted to do something meaningful that connects our stores and gives back to a cause that is close to many of our hearts. It’ll be a long walk, but every step will be worth it,” said Carlos Santos, a customer-service assistant who’s participating in the event.

Access launched “Self Storage Week,” June 23-27, to shine a light on the industry and the role it plays for individuals, families and businesses. In addition to the fundraiser, the storage operator will offer social media posts, videos, employee spotlights and storage hacks for customers. The initiative will also encourage partnerships with local businesses, storage providers, moving companies, property businesses and community groups, sources reported.
In addition to self-storage and vehicle storage, Access offers records management, office space and warehouse storage at select properties.
