Amy’s Attic Self Storage, which operates six facilities in Texas, has launched the “Germageddon” donation drive to collect cleaning supplies for local teachers and help them keep their classrooms germ-free. Running through Aug. 1, the initiative encourages community members to donate items including hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, gloves, tissues and paper towels, all with the goal of promoting school cleanliness, according to a press release.
Contributions can be dropped off at any Amy’s Attic location, where bins will be clearly designated in bright orange. The supplies will be distributed to nearby elementary schools.
“Teachers and schools face tight budgets that often don’t cover the ongoing cost of cleaning supplies,” said Jennifer Thompson, senior manager. “Germageddon is our way of giving back and standing beside educators who work hard every day to create safe learning environments for our kids.”
