The California Self Storage Association (CSSA) has named newly appointed officers for its executive committee and elected board of directors for 2026, which includes two new members, according to a press release. The new executive committee is:
Chairman: Nathan McElmurry, Managing Director, Ares SecureSpace
Vice chairman: Matthew Garibaldi, CEO, Storage Star/FollettUSA
Treasurer: Steve Cobbs, Managing Director of Self-Storage, North Palisade Partners
Secretary: Tosha Giuffrida, Vice President of Operations, Derrel’s Mini Storage
Immediate past chair: Gary Sugarman, Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer, William Warren Group/StorQuest Self Storage
Returning board members are:
Weyen M. Burnam, Director of Real Estate, StorageMart
Byung Cho, Director of Acquisitions and Development, Metropolitan Investments
Bob Dailey, Managing Partner, Pegasus Group
Kristen Harris, President, Tierra Corp.
Steve Mirabito, President, StoragePro Management Inc.
Christina Rita, Chief Operating Officer, StoragePro Management Inc.

The new board members are Brian Somoza, managing director of JLL Capital Markets, and Sarah Swingler, business development manager for MakoRabco.
“Thank you to [these] individuals who serve in this volunteer role to help guide the association to collaborate, protect and educate the membership,” the CSSA released in a statement.
CSSA is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to supporting the self-storage industry in California. The group offers educational events, networking opportunities, legislative advocacy and more.
