The California Self Storage Association (CSSA) has retained Platinum Advisors, a government-relations firm, to represent its interests in issues impacting self-storage owners and operators in the state. Platinum has experience in navigating California’s legislative and regulatory environment. It’ll support the CSSA before the legislature, Governor Gavin Newsome’s administration and key state agencies, according to a press release.
Primary representation will be provided by Martha Miller, president, and Allison Barnett, legislative advocate for Platinum. They’ll work with CSSA leadership and industry partners to monitor legislation, engage policymakers and advance a strategy to protect the self-storage sector. CSSA will continue working with the Self Storage Association and its lobbyist, Naomi Padron of MKP Government Relations. It’ll also collaborate with California Business Roundtable, California Business Properties Association, and lobbyists hired by real estate investment trusts and other large CSSA members, the release stated.

“CSSA looks forward to working with Platinum Advisors to ensure the interests of California’s self-storage industry are effectively represented and that members remain informed and engaged as policy discussions evolve,” CSSA released in a statement. “Additional updates and opportunities for member engagement will be shared as the legislative session progresses."
CSSA is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to supporting the self-storage industry in California. The group offers educational events, networking opportunities, legislative advocacy and more.
Platinum is a Sacramento, California-based government-relations and public-affairs firm that represents regulated industries before the legislature, the governor’s office and state agencies. It handles policy issues, coalition-building and hands-on engagement with policymakers in consumer protection, regulatory and business-focused legislative matters.
