Lance Watkins, CEO of self-storage software provider Tenant Inc., has been named a finalist for EY’s “Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 Pacific Southwest.” Now in its 40th year, the award celebrates original founders in 60 countries and 17 U.S. regions. It’s intended to celebrate leaders who “disrupt markets through the world's most ground-breaking companies, revolutionizing industries and making a profound impact on communities. The program honors bold entrepreneurs whose innovations shape the future and pave the way for a thriving economy and a hopeful tomorrow,” according to a press release.
An independent panel of judges selected finalists based on their ingenuity, courage and entrepreneurial spirit, the release stated. Regional award winners will be announced during a June 6 event in San Diego. They’ll then be considered for the national awards presented in November at the company’s annual Strategic Growth Forum in Palm Springs, California.

“Being named an ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ finalist is a deeply meaningful honor,” Watkins said. “My journey in self-storage began over 25 years ago, sparked by mentorship and driven by a relentless pursuit of finding more innovative ways to operate. My focus has always remained clear: applying innovation to solve the real-world challenges that storage operators like myself face every day. For me, this recognition validates that career-long pursuit, but the real credit for the growth and impact goes to the incredible teams across Storage Outlet, StorageTreasures, Storelocal, Charity Storage and Tenant Inc. While we’re always focused on what’s next, I’ll certainly pause for a moment to reflect on this acknowledgment and how far we’ve come together.”
Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Tenant provides software and technology for self-storage and other types of real estate. Its customizable solutions include digital-marketing services, property-management software, website technology and more.
