The Ludlow, England, location of Lock Stock Self-Storage, which operates 30 container-based facilities in the United Kingdom, recently donated food and other supplies to Stephen House, which supports people in need, according to the source. The donation was delivered by Alan Brightmore, area manager for Lock Stock in Shropshire and the border counties.

“We’re delighted to be able to support Stephen House, which is a very active organization doing a great job of helping people turn their lives round,” Brightmore said. “Especially at this time of year, you don’t like to think of people who don’t have a place to have a wash and a hot meal. So, Stephen House is providing a vital service, and we at Lock Stock are pleased to be able to help them.”

Stephen House is operated by St Laurence’s Church in memory of its builder, Stephen Treasure, who died in 2021 at age 67. The emergency-day facility includes a lounge, kitchen, washing machine, shower and toilet.

“It’s there to help the vulnerable because it’s quite easy to slip through the statutory-care safety nets,” said Paul Kemp, the lay pastoral worker for Stephen House. “It does get well used and is part of the church, and its mission to support vulnerable people. But we couldn’t do it without donations and help, and that’s why we’re grateful to Lock Stock for coming forward with this food.”

Founded in 1999 by brothers Nick and Shon Powell, Lock Stock offers nearly 5,000 self-storage containers across its properties. The family-operated business also provides moving services through its “Take Stock” van fleet.
