A manager was shot during a robbery on Monday evening at Good Deal Self Storage in Wissinoming, a neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia. The 57-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck in the shoulder and chest and grazed by another bullet on the head. Police are seeking a suspect, according to sources.
A masked man wielding a semi-automatic weapon entered the office at 5400 Eadom St. around 7 p.m. He forced the self-storage manager and a customer to get on their knees behind the counter. He took an unknown amount of cash from the register, then shot four rounds from the gun. The customer wasn’t injured, sources reported.
The shooter fled southbound on Eadom Street on an electric bike or scooter. He was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans and light-colored mask, according to the facility’s surveillance cameras.
Good Deal offers interior and drive-up units, outdoor vehicle-storage parking, and shipping containers.
