Go Store It Self Storage, an affiliate of Madison Capital Group, has opened a new facility in Paramount, California, that features a large mural by Mexican-American artist Ms.Yellow. Stretching across the building at 15932 Minnesota Ave., the art features an array of brightly colored flowers and shapes. It reflects the artist's signature style of creating large-scale, impactful art, according to a press release.

“Paramount officials exercise great discretion over new development projects, and we are delighted to have worked collaboratively with them to design and build a showpiece that serves the growing storage demands of Paramount residents in a clean, secure and safe setting,” said Adam Lentz, West Coast development partner for Go Store It. “The decision to include a mural was driven by the desire to soften the presence of the structure within the city's overall fabric and to create a visual focal point that the community can take pride in.”

Ms.Yellow, whose given name is Nuria Ortiz, is a self-taught muralist, artist and educator. She’s dedicated her career to the creative development and empowerment of communities. Her artwork, which centers on themes such as culture, folklore, sisterhood, education, unity and love, has been displayed in museums, galleries and streets across the United States as well as in Australia, Egypt, France, Haiti, Mexico, Japan and Spain.

“We interviewed several artists recommended by the city and ultimately chose Ms.Yellow because of the vibrancy of her work and her ability to create compelling, large-scale pieces,” Lentz said. “Her mural is not just an artistic statement; it's a community benefit that enhances the aesthetic appeal of our facility and the city.”

The building comprises 75,000 square feet in 850 climate-controlled units. It’s near several highways as well as universities and colleges.

Founded in 2014 and based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Go Store It is a privately held acquisition, development and property-management company. It operates 108 facilities in 15 states.

Madison Capital is a real estate investment and development firm with a primary focus in multi-family and self-storage.
