S Jones Containers, a provider of shipping containers in the United Kingdom, is launching a paint-restoration product for portable self-storage units. ClearRestore uses a biodegradable degreaser, delivering more than 50% cost savings and lower environmental impact compared to repainting, according to a press release.
Although available to other industries, ClearRestore will be primarily marketed to self-storage operators. Company representatives will restore the containers on site with no disruption to the business, according to its website.
With built-in UV protectors and antioxidants, ClearRestore comes with a five-year guarantee against paint cracking, fading, peeling and yellowing. The coating can also be reapplied as needed to maintain container finish. S Jones will introduce the product this week at the Self Storage Association UK Conference in Telford, England, where it will display a restored shipping-container door in its booth.

Family-owned S Jones has provided shipping containers for more than 40 years. It operates one of the largest depots in West Midlands, England, and provides its product nationwide through a network of regional stores.
