Helen Ng, chair of the Self Storage Association Asia (SSAA), was appointed to the board for Singapore charity Ray of Hope. She was chosen for the role based on her strategic leadership, operational experience and commitment to building sustainable community impact, according to a press release. Ng will also participate in the organization’s fundraising committee.

Ray of Hope is dedicated to addressing emerging and unmet social needs in Singapore by providing transparent crowdfunding support to individuals and families in crisis. The organization has “Institution of a Public Character” (IPC) status, which means it can accept tax-deductible donations.

“I’m deeply honored to join the board of Ray of Hope,” said Ng, who is also CEO of General Storage Co., which operates self-storage facilities in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore under the brands Lock+Store and The Store House. “At its heart, Ray of Hope embodies the same values that guide our work at General Storage Company—empathy, transparency and a commitment to creating lasting impact. This appointment represents how industries like ours can contribute meaningfully beyond the business sphere.”
