Steel & Metal Systems Inc. (SAMS), a provider of self-storage building solutions, introduced a new product line and announced several staff promotions and charity initiatives. The news was distributed in the company’s July 9 newsletter.
SAMS launched Swiftbuilt, a cold-formed-steel building system intended for clearspan structures. It’s engineered to “meet the increasing demand for economical, versatile and high-performance building solutions across multiple industries,” including agricultural bars, commercial warehouses and self-storage, the newsletter stated. Key product benefits include:
Clear spans of up to 60 feet for maximum interior space
Improved installation timelines
Custom engineering
Lower materials and construction costs compared to red-iron buildings
“Swiftbuilt combines the strength and durability of steel with the affordability and flexibility that today’s customers demand,” said Will Crawford, director of special projects. “It’s an innovative alternative to traditional red-iron construction, offering significant cost savings without compromising on structural integrity.”

The company also announced three promotions. Thomas Cook was appointed sales manager and will expand the team’s operations nationwide from the East Coast. Hendry Howard was named director of corporate training to lead development initiatives for key departments across SAMS and its sister company, Roll-Up Door Inc. (RDI), which manufactures rolling steel doors catering to the commercial and industrial sectors. Korey Sweat has assumed Howard’s former position as project-manager supervisor.
SAMS also provided information on recent charitable initiatives in which the company participated. In March, it installed a custom door with an American flag design at the Otter Creek Fire Station in Blackshear, Georgia, as a tribute to veterans and first responders. The project was led by Howard and Graham Raley, vice president of finance and operations for RDI. SAMS also hosted its inaugural golf tournament to support Miracle League of the Okefenokee (MLO), a local nonprofit that supports athletes with special needs. Employees raised $500, which the company matched for a total donation of $1,000. Staff also volunteered as “buddies” to assist and cheer on athletes during April’s MLO Spring Games, which brings together adults and children with special needs to participate in baseball tournaments.
With more than 30 years of experience in the self-storage industry, SAMS supplies single-story, multi-story and interior storage systems. The company offers customization as well as manufacturing and installation control, handling projects from design to drafting to engineering.
