Steel & Metal Systems Inc. (SAMS), a provider of self-storage building solutions, and its sister company, Roll-Up Door Inc. (RDI), which manufactures rolling-steel doors for the commercial and industrial sectors, have announced several corporate updates. In addition to installing new equipment at their manufacturing plants, the companies completed the renovation of their corporate offices and launched several new charity initiatives.
The new SAMS equipment includes a machine to create corrugated steel decking used in roofs and floors. It’ll allow SAMS to manufacture the material in-house and control supply without depending on outside vendors. Installation is also in progress for two roll formers—one that produces downspouts for self-storage buildings and another that forms hat-shaped steel channels for structural support and hall systems. The final addition at the SAMS plant is a double- and single-frame roll former used to manufacture interior hallway systems. The advancements will allow the company to increase production and boost product efficiency, according to a customer newsletter.

RDI has also added a corrugated-steel roll former to its manufacturing plant to produce panels for roll-up doors. It’ll enable the company to increase production capacity while maintaining quality and consistency, the newsletter stated.
SAMS and RDI also completed the remodel of its corporate offices, adding upgraded workstations and improved meeting areas. The spaces were designed to better support collaboration, efficiency and growth.
The companies also launched three new charitable initiatives. They donated funds to the Pierce County Emergency Preparedness Foundation for the purchase of flashlights, first-aid supplies and other items that’ll be included in Emergency Preparedness Bags distributed to local families. Created in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the foundation is led by the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce and Pierce County Family Connection. SAMS and RDI staff also supported the Southern Storm Allstar Gymnastics Clothing Drive by donating clothes and volunteering at its back-to-school event. In addition, company computers were refurbished and sold to employees at a discount. The money was then donated to the Cheer Abilities Sunshine Team, a cheerleading squad for individuals with special needs, to fund new team uniforms.
With more than 30 years of experience in the self-storage industry, SAMS supplies single-story, multi-story and interior storage systems. The company offers customization as well as manufacturing and installation control, handling projects from design to drafting to engineering.
