Self-storage management firms Haviland Storage Services (HSS) and Lighthouse Storage Solutions have created a strategic partnership to strengthen the HSS leadership team and expand the operational expertise available to the both companies’ clients. As part of this collaboration, Melissa Huff, who’s a co-owner, chief operating officer and consultant with Lighthouse, will join the Haviland team in a senior consulting and leadership role effective Feb. 1, according to a press release.
The partnership is designed to enhance service, training and operational support for self-storage owners and managers. HSS will continue to deliver third-party management services, now with expanded operations consulting and training resources from Lighthouse, the release stated.
Sue Haviland founded HSS in 2009. She has 37 years of self-storage experience, including senior-leadership roles as vice president of operations for real estate investment trust Extra Space Storage Inc. and Price Self-Storage.

With 17 years of industry experience, Melissa Huff progressed from onsite management to leadership roles within a growing third-party management company. She co-owns Lighthouse with her husband, Josh, where she consults with owners nationwide.
