PTI Security Systems, a provider of access-control technologies for the self-storage industry, is discontinuing its VP Standard Keypad effective Dec. 1. It’ll be replaced by the AP1 Smart Keypad, according to a press release.
Support and replacements for end-of-life VP Standard Keypads will remain available throughout the warranty period. If a replacement is required but no longer available, PTI will provide an upgraded AP1. Other VP products will remain on sale, though they’re expected to reach their end of life next year, the release stated.
Founded in 1979, PTI manufactures technology-enabled security solutions for self-storage operations. Its product line includes access-control hardware and software, wired and wireless door alarms, and mobile-access solutions. The company has installed more than 40,000 systems in 30-plus countries.
