Tenant Inc., a provider of management software and other technology for self-storage and other types of real estate, is partnering with Neighbor, a marketplace for consumers seeking parking and storage. The partnership enables users of Tenant’s Hummingbird software to showcase their available self-storage units and pricing on the Neighbor platform, according to a press release.
Renters can compare and book climate-controlled, drive-up and vehicle-storage spaces in a single search. They can also filter by unit size, type and security features. Neighbor also works with existing customer-relationship-management programs used by Tenant so that pricing, billing and terms remain fully in the self-storage operator’s control without switching systems.
“Tenant Inc.’s mission is to simplify growth for storage operators,” said Tenant CEO Lance Watkins. “Now, our customers can reach millions of renters on Neighbor without changing their workflow. It’s plug-and-play digital growth, all while keeping their day-to-day pricing and operations right where they belong. Because reservations flow directly into Tenant Inc., operators can act faster and convert demand without adding operational complexity or paying outrageous fees.”

“We’re excited to partner with Tenant Inc. because operators shouldn’t have to change how they run their business to reach those renters,” said Neighbor CEO Joseph Woodbury. “By working with the leading software that facilities already use, Neighbor makes it easier for self-storage companies to capture online demand at the moment renters search and turn that demand into move-ins.”
Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Tenant offers customizable solutions for self-storage operators including digital-marketing services, property-management software, website technology and more. It services more than 1,000 customers nationwide.
Neighbor offers listings for parking and storage across the U.S. The company is backed by a $75 million investment from Andreessen Horowitz, Fifth Wall and Pelion Venture Partners.
