Vanguard Self Storage, which operates nine facilities in England, raised £4,182 for multiple charitable initiatives this month. Recipients included local and international organizations, according to a press release.
In November, Vanguard of Bath provided free space to Christmas for CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), a charity that supplies gifts to children and young people in hospital wards across the United Kingdom. The facility’s onsite team also helped the charity organize and dispatch the 1,500 items.
Vanguard’s staff and tenants also participated in “Christmas Jumper Day” to support Save the Children, an international humanitarian organization that provides food, health programs and education to kids. Donations were collected across all the self-storage operator’s properties, then matched by Vanguard for a total donation of £348.
Vanguard’s Salford branch hosted a Christmas raffle in support of the MND Association, which provides help to those affected by motor neurone disease. The facility’s tenants and local businesses donated 56 prizes including a laptop, TV, gift vouchers, gym membership and seasonal treats. Vanguard once again matched the total funds, offering £3,834 to the charity.

“Over the course of the year, we have undertaken many charitable initiatives, from sponsored bike rides to supporting The King’s Trust,” said Ben Thilthorpe, head of operations for Vanguard. “But in the run-up to Christmas, we are very proud of our teams and customers who have come together to make the festive season better for others.”
Founded in 1964, Vanguard Self Storage is owned by Vanguard Holdings, which has roots dating back to 1964. The family-owned company also operates Vanguard Filebank, a document-storage company with locations in Bristol, London and Manchester, England.
